Miss L said “Lets see what is there in the TV”, changing the chaneel, lying lazily on the bed.

“Get up, hurry, we need to see this Baoli” I said looking ta the watch

“What is that?” she was that interested to visit.

“Its Baoli Loly, Baoli. Eiffel Tower nahi tho kya hua, Baoli hi sayi (May not be Eiffel tower I am ok with Baoli) . In PK they have shown and I am sure it will be in future movies as well. We can boast later saying “been there”. Come on Hurry”

“Really SnL?Do you know you sound crazy?”She was still on bed, not convinced at all.

Please Loly, Please, lets go” Yeah, I was begging. Its one of the attraction as well.

After lot of begging and maskafying(buttering) we both were o n the way to Baoli. Convincing Miss N was like breaking a iron bun I didnt bother. “Have fun you two and let me know hows it” she had said

As soon as we reached we were hit by Pigeon shit smell and welcome by Pigeons welcome song and shit

“Really SnL?!!” Miss L said and rolled her eyes.

Please dont tell Nisha, lets lie saying it was the best, please. I dont want to hear her say “Told ya, I am always right”.

“Crazy you are” She said while I just grinned

When empty bottles hook up together, Thank you people for your help else we wouldn’t have been met, that too with empty pockets.

Olden days it used to be water storage place but now sheltering all the pigeons

Mainly you can find couple catching up on the current news and touching up on future cause, you can totally skip this place.

Dhobi ghat

Avoid visiting India Gate on weekends, its like car festival, crowded. You can see people taking a dip in the water like its holy Ganga

We saw the crowd and we were quiet:)

There is the India Gate

Historical monuments are phenomenal, all thanks to the artist. When we just explored 0.5% of Delhi, rest is still yet to be explored. Next time may be. That’s was that.

While on the highway, got goosebumps when I read Haryana, Gurgaon names. You dont have to be physically present there just listen to their names and you are scared

Its crowded like car festival, always

Every one has to go in a queue, food is not allowed:)

Its amazing to be there looking at the white beauty

I couldn’t stop admiring the beauty.

Look at the bees like human. Its crazy crowd. You will never get a shot without any one photobombing it.

The beauty cant be expressed in words

They scrubbed Taj clean with the special Multani Mitti, bought it from Turkey. Gold which decorated the dome was gone with British, self gifted, when they left India for good. There are many more monuments which has missing parts, the parts being taken away by British. Oh Dear!

Earth quake or Thunder storm, nothing can harm Taj, isn’t it awesome

During full moon Taj shines and one need special ticket to watch the magic.

Yamuna   flew quietly but gracefully remembering the olden golden days, leaving the track of her tears.

I am buffalo and I can walk anywhere I want because I am in UP. Freedom for human, double freedom for animals.

It looked like age of depression. Then black now turned into brown, never-seen-oil hair, face stained with sweat, water or god knows what substance, shabby clothes, standing and staring at something or nothing with blank expression.

Jodha Bai’s Palace

Its free entry for street dogs

Jodha Bai’s kitchen

Jodha Bai’s Palace

We could see Fatehpur Sikri from here

Fatehpur Sikri entance

According to our guide Akbar didnt kill Anarkali, rather he sent her to Lahore through this tunnel

Dead for long but visited every day by many

Bhar do jholi meri ya muhammad laut kar main na jaunga khali

Salim Chisti Dargah Fatehpur Sikri.

They say if you pray here whole heartily your wishes come true.

Our guide was taking us around and then he stopped in front of a man i rather say salesman and said “Now he will explain in the importance of Dargah”

The sales man who was selling chadar, which we have seen in Dargah said

“Buy this chadar, thread, visit the Dargah, your wishes will come true. Tie the thread to the window while offer the Chadar to god. The Chadar later is given to the needy”

On asking chadar costs he said 700Rs. :).

All mighty, rich, powerful good was in need of a chadar?

Anywhere you can make money is in religious place, in India, churches, temples and dargah.

Little bit of emotional blackmail and humans are in pocket.

So did I buy the chadar?hmmm, yes but cheap one. I am sure god wont sit and calculate different between 700 and 250.

Akbar constructed Fatehpur Sikri. Did you know Akbar had married a christian Mariam, a Hindu and many Muslim women, according to our guide who charged us 100Rs for his 1 hour walk through on Jodhas Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri. We also assumed that he is a dealer in chadar business.

Buland Darwaza

If there is a Spitting game in Olympics, UP will defiantly will bring gold for India

10Rs give me and I will tell you a Shayari, the kid literally tortured me. This is when I gave him money and he gave me one of his best smile, obviously followed by shayari in super express mode

Few tips:

-Some guides are genuine but not all. They have tie ups with local shop keepers so be wise while buying things

-Fatehpur Sikri is very far from Taj. You can cover both in same day provided you leave early in the morning.

-We couldn’t visit inside Taj as there was a big queue. It was either only Taj or Taj and Sikri. We went with latter.

-UP sounds and looks dangerous, make sure your driver is trust worthy while hiring a vehicle. Delhi to UP highway stories are sickening.

-Some days are closed for public visit for Taj. Make sure you go on right day.

-Dress moderately, because its UP(Why to take chance when we can take precaution)

-Avoid any arguments with local

“Miss N, see Puri Jagannath temple,” I was fooling around

Miss N, looked at me and then at the temple, “really SnL?”.

Red Fort

I am kick ass photographer, I told ya

Jama Masjid

Goat on its final wait; during Eid

In our half crop pants we couldn’t visit Jama Masjid, I will regret it always.

Electric wires are everywhere

Cramped up place but still busy, imagine staying in this locality for a day or two.

Chandni Chowk

Ignore the arm, see the belt, little bit long it could have wrapped againRickshawalas are so common, if the god was around he would have travelled by the same
“Hey rickshawwali, paisa na le, bhabi hai teri”

“Not again SnL” Miss N started. But nothing could stop me

“Lambi wali, jo gussaemae hai”

Listening to me even the rickshaw guy laughed

Oh yeah, old buildings still stand strong

Qutb Minar

Its mind captivating, making you wonder the great personalities Indian had ages ago.

When they started to build this Minar, they wanted to build taller than Qutb Minar but due some reason it never raise from its base

One last time

Trees seems to be weeping seeing me go

Are’nt they cute

“Bhayyaji, bhayyaji, Sarojini Chalogae”? L and N rolled their eyes

Sarojini, Finally!!!

“Madamji, lelo, sirf 100rs”(Madam, just 100rs, buy it)

Travel tips:

-Try to carry a pair of pants everywhere you go, few places they wont allow you if you are half dressed.

-Public entry is restricted on few days, check before you visit the place.

-Keep your energy pumping, there is lot more to do in each and every places. From admiring to experiencing.

-Try Delhi Metro, fast and cheap.

To be continued

As I landed in Delhi, I didnt feel like I am in different place. But as soon as I entered the metro with my girls, It hit me. Never-seen-oil-turning-into-brown-hair, red color outlined lips, buy one get one free shirts won by men, when stare at you without blinking, it makes your skin crawl. If I was complaining about the staring-women-contest of Bangalorean men I was in for a bigger surprise in Delhi. No we weren’t in belly button flaunting crop tops or but cracks showing tees, we were fully clothes from head to toe. F*** our capital and F*** all the men

India Gate in all angles.

Buy end of the day we were so used to the men staring at us like we were fresh breed of chimps in market. Sadly we have to see India gate in the pitch dark, but glad we did.

We were there couple of months back, but the weather was still bad. But surprisingly could see greenery unlike Bangalore.Chat ka khazana

“Bhaayyaji, Bhaayyaji, Sarojini Chalogae?” I was trying pout the Delhi accent I watched in you tube

“What with you SnL? we are not going to Sarojini, we are going to India Gate”

“Ka Bhole babu, Hamki patha hai” I was full on

“You are mental, trust me. wonder which all accent you have learned”

Then the epic dialogue from Raanjhana

“hey rickshaw wale paisa na le, bhabi hai teri, ….” Even the cab driver was laughing. Really, with all my talent I should have been a actress, playing hero’s sister or heroines sisters role

We stayed in Connaught place, pretty decent locality.

People whom we met seemed nice but then the recent crime news made us doubt each and everyone.

Its beautiful but not safe, with pollution and population maintaining their equilibrium, red pan spit mark on walls you miss home.  Delhi is beautiful but I think it already lost its essence.

Safety Tips:

-Make sure you are staying in a decent area

-Partying in Delhi, naa, you can come don to Bangalore, it has more pubs than churches.,

-Trust no one, specially if you are a tourist

-Only women trip not a good idea, there were places we got goose bumps. Like we did, Miss N, Miss L with SnL

-Carry pepper spray, butter knife(you can poke his eyes) and dont panic

-Try acting like a localite like me, calling Bhayyaji, Bhayyaji all time.

Every time I said “Bhayyaji”, Miss L had to sigh and say “for heaven sake SnL, stop saying Bhayyaji”,

“Then What should I call them?As you see I tried calling them Sir, but they dont like it”

“Call just Bhayya”

“Bhayyaji Bhyyaji Sarojini chalogae?”

“You are mental” Miss N was contributing using her short hand skills on phone.
